Liverpool fans on Twitter were impressed with the performance of Bukayo Saka after he helped Arsenal win the Community Shield at Wembley yesterday.

The Premier League champions came up against the FA Cup winners, with Mikel Arteta’s men proving to be victorious on penalties.

Saka, who had a breakthrough campaign last season, started the encounter and seemingly impressed the Liverpool fans during the 82 minutes he was on the pitch for.

Some even questioned why the versatile player hasn’t been picked for England because Gareth Southgate could do with his qualities, especially his ability to play at left-back.

Either way, he will be hoping to get his chance in the future as Liverpool fans think the Arsenal academy product is one to watch.

It was a disappointing day for Jurgen Klopp’s men, and whilst Arteta’s side will rejoice in this victory, Liverpool won’t dwell on it too much because it’s only their first game back ahead of the defence of their title.

Arsenal’s record transfer deals

  1. Nicolas Pepe

    £72 million

  2. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

    £56 million

  3. Alexandre Lacazette

    £52 million

  4. Thomas Partey

    45 million

  5. Mesut Ozil

    £42 million

The Reds will no doubt be up there once again defending their crown, but can Arsenal spring a surprise or two?

If they are then the likes of Saka will be key because, despite his young age, he has become such an important figure for the club.
