The Everton goalkeeper was loaned back to his old club last month.

Everton-owned Jonas Lossl enjoyed a successful return to Huddersfield Town this afternoon.

The Denmark international returned to the Championship club on a half-season loan on transfer deadline day after struggling for football at Goodison Park.

Lossl only joined Everton last summer but hadn’t made a single senior appearance for the Toffees following his Bosman move to Merseyside.

Director of Football Marcel Brands loaned him back to the Terriers and he marked his second debut for the club with a 2-0 win over QPR this afternoon.

Town fans loved the 31-year-old – who helped them to Premier League promotion – and here’s how the supporters responded to his post-match tweet today.

Ironically, Jordan Pickford, the Everton keeper who kept him out of the first XI every week, made a horrendous error in his side’s 3-1 win over Crystal Palace this afternoon.

Despite Pickford’s mistake, it seems unlikely that Lossl has any long-term future on Merseyside. The reality is that Marco Silva and Carlo Ancelotti have both rated Pickford higher and it seems likely that he might stay at Huddersfield beyond the end of his loan.
