Todd Cantwell is earning rave reviews after returning to Norwich City’s line-up, following rumours of a move to Leeds United over the summer.
The Daily Mirror reported how Leeds were chasing Cantwell for much of the previous transfer window, but they ultimately decided against making a move for the playmaker on domestic transfer deadline day.
Cantwell seemed to be distracted by the speculation over his future and he was recently criticised by Norwich boss Daniel Farke.
But Cantwell returned to Norwich’s team last night and impressed as they picked up a 1-0 win over Birmingham City, with the reported Leeds target earning great praise on social media.
Leeds are likely to continue to track Cantwell’s progress at Carrow Road, as they never did manage to bring in a creative central midfielder.
The Whites had a brilliant summer, but they couldn’t quite get a deal done for any of the playmakers that Marcelo Bielsa targeted.
Cantwell should be one of the standout players in the Championship this season, given his level of ability, and his return to action can only be good news for Norwich.
