Liverpool striker Divock Origi led the fightback as the Reds came out on top in a dramatic game at Anfield.

Nobody will have had a 5-5 scoreline on their betting slips, but suspect defending from both teams allowed Liverpool and Arsenal’s attacking players to flourish.

Origi, 24, scored twice as Liverpool came back to force the game to penalties, before coming out on top.

This was a game Origi needed, after a slow start to the 2019/20 season for him.

A year ago, Origi’s future at Anfield was still up in the air. The Belgian striker proved himself beyond expectations.

His goals against Barcelona and Tottenhm capped a superb season with Liverpool winning the Champions League, but following that up has not been so easy.

A case in point was the away game against Manchester United, where Origi really struggled to make an impact, save for one early driving run.

Last night was a significant step in the right direction. Origi thrived in a leadership role amid a team of young players.

This performance can kickstart the striker’s season. Getting back to the high levels of last year was always going to be difficult, but he showed last night, he’s still got it.
