Scottish Premiership champions Celtic need to replace Brendan Rodgers and Red Bull Salzburg boss Marco Rose could be perfect.

Neil Lennon, Steve Clarke and David Moyes; most of the coaches tipped to replace Brendan Rodgers at Celtic have a few similarities. They are vastly experienced, know Scottish football like the back of their hand and seem particularly ‘low-risk’.
Marco Rose, however, couldn’t be any further removed. A 42-year-old who has been in charge of Red Bull Salzburg since 2017, the German is hardly a household name north of the border – but he is one of the most promising and forward thinking coaches in Europe.
Surely that makes him a better fit for a Celtic side looking to progress rather than stagnate in the years after Brendan? The fans seem to think so anyway.

Rose led Salzburg to the Austrian Bundesliga crown last season and while that was hardly a surprise (they had won each of the last three domestic titles too), reaching the semi-finals of the Europa League was a huge achievement. They knocked out the highly-fancied Dortmund and Lazio along the way.
The Leipzig-born boss is a coach who loves to work with young players and espouses a high-paced, swashbuckling style of play that has made Salzburg one of the continent’s most watchable teams.
Could you really think of anyone more suited to the Celtic job?
