Speaking to Prime Video (via TMW), Clarence Seedorf has been discussing Liverpool and Roberto Firmino.
The Brazilian striker has been one of the bright spots in what has been a rather poor season so far for the Reds.
Indeed, Firmino is the Merseyside club’s joint-top scorer and top assister this season, and Seedorf is expecting the attacker to continue to play a key role despite the arrival of Darwin Nunez.
Seedorf had a lot of good things to say about Firmino, and he even compared him to Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema due to his ability to play so fluidly in the attack.

What’s been said?
Seedorf spoke about Firmino and Benzema.
“Firmino would always put him in, in recent years Liverpool did well because he is a bit like Benzema at Real Madrid, he knows how to play a little lower and goes on the wings, he is a 9 who knows what is needed to the team and Klopp will bet a lot on him again this season, despite the arrival of Nunez,” Seedord said.
Still brilliant
Roberto Firmino may not be one of Jurgen Klopp’s most important players these days, but make no mistake about it, he’s still an absolutely brilliant footballer.
The Benzema comparison is apt, and it wouldn’t surprise us one bit if Firmino has something of a renaissance in the same way Benzema has in recent years.
Let’s not forget, the Frenchman was always playing second or third fiddle behind Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo in the Real Madrid attack for years, but as soon as he became the main man, he stepped up.
With Sadio Mane gone and Mo Salah faltering, Firmino is showing signs of stepping up this season, and while Nunez is the new headline signing, Klopp may want to show more faith in Firmino going forward as the Reds look to get back on track.
