Manchester City supporters are concerned about the standard of Eliaquim Mangala’s performances since signing.
Eliaquim Mangala may still be adjusting to English football, but Manchester City supporters are becoming more and more concerned over the standard of his performances.
Signed from Porto for close to £32 million this summer, there was an expectation that Mangala would immediately become a key player for the side.
However, the Frenchman has struggled in his initial appearances for the team and looked well off the pace in last night’s 2-0 defeat against Newcastle United.
Mangala was partly at fault for Newcastle’s first goal, as Rolando Aarons breezed past him to score, and he looked uncomfortable throughout the night.
It was another poor performance from the centre-back, who is yet to look up to the quality required since completing a move.
This level of his display was even more concerning as it came against Newcastle’s second-string squad and unless he can improve hugely then his transfer looks like it could be a flop.
Mangala has been under a lot of scrutiny since joining, but the pressure on him is only set to grow and it seems that even City’s supporters are starting to become frustrated with his poor performances.
Here is the best reaction to his display on Twitter.
