Ciaran Clark has played for Newcastle United and Aston Villa during his Premier League career.

Ciaran Clark has represented Aston Villa, and currently Newcastle United during his Premier League career, as he could add another club to his CV before next Thursday’s deadline.
The Sun have claimed that Crystal Palace are preparing a move for Aston Villa academy product Clark, who isn’t the first choice at Newcastle ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
Palace need serious quality added to their team ahead of the new season after surviving relegation last term and losing right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United earlier on in the summer.
Clark’s Premier League record, both at Aston Villa and now at Newcastle should serve a warning that Palace shouldn’t push for a move for the 29-year-old.
At Villa, he showed promise but was ultimately involved in the team that suffered relegation to the Championship in 2016 before he made a switch to St James’ Park.
During his time with the Magpies, he produced the goods in the second tier of English football, but since their promotion, his performances and game time has dipped

The Republic of Ireland international has also lost his place on the international scene, and whilst he has the experience, he wouldn’t improve a Palace side in need of some oomph.
Added with that, it seems as though Newcastle could be willing to part ways with Clark before August 8’s deadline, as they plan to make room for a highly-rated youngster.
The Chronicle have claimed that Newcastle could sell Clark and bring in Paris Saint-Germain defender Stanley Nsoki, who is closing on a switch to the North East from the French champions. That in itself says a lot about where his Newcastle future lies, and they finished below Palace last season.
