The Hoops summer signing made his competitive debut for Neil Lennon’s Bhoys.
Celtic defender Christopher Jullien has taken to Instagram to express his delight following an impressive competitive debut for the Hoops on Tuesday night in the Champions League second qualifying round second leg against Nomme Kalju.
The reported £7million summer signing from Toulouse (BBC Sport) made his first competitive start for Neil Lennon’s charges as a 2-0 win in Tallinn ensured passage to the third qualifying round, where they will play Romanian side Cluj.
Celtic won the first leg 5-0 at Parkhead last week, which meant that the Hoops boss was able to name a rotated side for the trip to Estonia last night, and within the first ten minutes the Bhoys had a six-goal aggregate lead thanks to Aleksandr Kulinits’s own goal.
The second goal did not come until deep into injury time but it was worth the wait as fellow competitive debutant Marian Shved lashed home a powerful strike from the edge of the penalty area to send the away contingent into raptures.
Jullian, who partnered Jozo Simunovic in a back four and looked comfortable throughout against the Estonians, posted the following message on his Insta:
Jullien also did his bit in real life to please the Celtic travelling support as he handed over his debut shirt to a fan at full time in Estonia, as reported by the Daily Record.
