The Hoops defender picked up the Man of the Match award as Neil Lennon’s Bhoys triumphed at the home of their rivals.

Celtic defender Christopher Jullien has given his thoughts on helping the Hoops triumph in the Old Firm derby against Rangers, and shared what he said about his teammates after picking up the Man of the Match award for his performance at Ibrox (Celtic website).
The 26-year-old Parkhead summer signing was one of four Bhoys defenders to experience their first taste of a Glasgow derby last Sunday and his superb performance, in which he expertly snuffed out the threat from Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe amongst others, earned him the accolade.
“It was a perfect first derby for me because we got the win,” Jullien told the official Celtic website. “It’s a good first step. Everything about the game including the atmosphere, was really good. It was a good feeling on the field and when you finish a game like that with a victory it was really good.
“I was really focused. I had a chat with the manager and I was really focused. Before this game we knew it was an important week. I just did my job. After I received the Man of the Match award, I said every one of the players deserved it because we did a really good job on the field.”

The Bhoys fanbase is sure to love Jullien’s comments in which he hailed the collective after picking up the individual award, testament to a selfless player and an asset to the squad and the dressing room – music to the ears of everyone associated with the Parkhead club, particularly after a tricky August.
Jullien joined Celtic from French Ligue 1 side Toulouse – for whom he had made 108 appearances, scoring eight goals – for a reported fee of around £7million in late June, agreeing a four-year deal to become the Scottish champions’ first summer recruit and second most expensive signing, as was reported by BBC Sport at the time.
Celtic’s win over the Gers put the Bhoys three points clear of their rivals with a 100 percent record in the Scottish Premiership ahead of the international break, and up next for the Hoops is the trip to Hamilton Academical a week on Saturday.
