The St. Etienne manager reveals he has met up with transfer target Jordan Veretout recently.

As quoted by the Le 10 Sport, St. Etienne manager Christophe Galtier has revealed that he has already met up with midfield target Jordan Veretout as speculation continues about the Aston Villa man’s future.
Veretout has been a big disappointment since his £8 million move from Nantes to Villa at the start of last season, and following the Villans relegation into the Championship it is widely believed that the 23-year-old will be leaving the Midlands-based outfit this summer.

A move back to France has been seen as a possibility for Veretout and it was recently revealed by talkSPORT that Villa had received an approach from St. Etienne for the 23-year-old.
Now it appears as though St. Etienne manager Galtier may have dropped a huge hint that Les Verts will be making a swoop for the midfielder after revealing that he has had talks with the former France Under-21 international already.

Galtier was quoted saying by Le 10 Sport, “Jordan Veretout? I met him, he knows my position.”
Veretout clearly did not enjoy a productive spell at Aston Villa but he has proven himself in the French Ligue 1 and the transfer could well prove to be a beneficial one for all three parties involved for the right price.
The player is unlikely to want to play Championship football, and move back home will surely be high on his list of priorities.
