Patrice Evra made his first appearance for West Ham on Saturday afternoon.

Former French international Christophe Dugarry has told SFR Sport that he was far from impressed with Patrice Evra’s debut performance for West Ham United against Liverpool.
The Hammers were looking for a surprise result on Merseyside against Jurgen Klopp’s men, but fell 3-0 down to goals from Emre Can, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino as a rampant Reds side took over.
Michail Antonio did pull one back for West Ham, but Sadio Mane’s late goal handed Liverpool a 4-1 victory, leaving the Hammers just three points clear of the relegation zone.

Manager David Moyes was criticised for his team selection, not only for leaving striker Javier Hernandez on the bench, but also for starting veteran left back Patrice Evra against Liverpool’s devastatingly fast attack.
Evra, 36, joined West Ham on a free transfer earlier this month having been released from his Marseille contract in November, and returned to make his first Premier League appearance since 2014 in Saturday’s defeat at Liverpool.
The veteran is coming towards the end of his career, and he didn’t particularly stand out at Anfield, though his performance has now been blasted by one former France international.

Christophe Dugarry – who was ironically brought to Birmingham City by now-West Ham owners David Gold and David Sullivan back in 2003 – is now a pundit in France, and he tore into Evra’s performance.
The pair appear to have personal issues between them, but Dugarry insisted on SFR Sport that he was merely analysing Evra’s display on the pitch, claiming he was late for everything at Anfield.
“He was good that game, no? He lost 19 balls, late for everything,” said Dugarry. “I found him very good. Well, I found him at his standard. It’s got nothing to do with him. I’m just looking at what he does on the pitch. Even if I don’t like the player or the man himself, I’m just looking at what goes on on the pitch,” he added.
