Leeds United are doing well without Chris Wood, who joined Premier League club Burnley in the summer transfer window.
Christiansen was appointed the Leeds head coach in the summer following the departure of Garry Monk.
Monk, now in charge of Championship rivals Middlesbrough, narrowly failed to guide the Whites to a top-six finish in the league last season.
The West Yorkshire outfit have made a great start to the 2017-18 campaign and are sitting at the top of the league table at the moment.
Leeds head coach Christiansen has revealed what he thought of the team when he took over, stating that the game was more direct with Chris Wood leading the line.
“I didn’t know too much about the players I had in the squad,” Christiansen told The Yorkshire Evening Post about the team before he came to Leeds.
“It was clear, I didn’t see a team in that moment that had the confidence in themselves. It was a little bit more direct play to Chris Wood.
“I found him a little bit alone up front. They were too far away. Pablo came to receive the ball, if he is the second striker, he has to be close to the other player.
“There are many situations. I have brought a lot of things to the players. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t.”
Wood left Leeds for Premier League club Burnley in the summer transfer window, but the New Zealand international striker is not being missed.
The Whites are a more fluid team without Wood and seem to be doing just fine without him at the moment.
