Leeds strength in depth was evident against Ipswich at the weekend.

Leeds United battled to a hard fought 3-2 victory against Ipswich, with their strength in depth clearly evident.
The Whites went into the game upon the backdrop of a morale boosting Carabao Cup victory over Burnley, and made several changes to the line up.
Yet there was still no space in the starting XI for Kemar Roofe, despite the attacking star being their second highest scorer this season with five goals.
Roofe did not even make it off the bench, with the move somewhat of a gamble by head coach Thomas Christiansen.

But Leeds managed to win without Roofe, and Christiansen’s team selection is now set to pay off with a second wind, as the 24-year-old is now completely fresh for the top of the table midweek clash with Cardiff City.
Christiansen will have chosen his team for Ipswich with one eye on the Cardiff fixture, and his decision making currently looks good.
One player who will feel hard done by is winger Hadi Sacko.

Sacko was one of the heroes from midweek, with his impressive counter attacking goal at Turf Moor sparking the cup tie into life.
The winger has found league opportunities hard to come by, but would have hoped his Burnley performance would have at least earned him a bench place.
Unfortunately for the 23-year-old, Leeds have serious strength in depth, with summer signing Pawel Cibicki also failing to make the 18.
It bodes well for Leeds’ hopes of promotion this season to have such a talented squad, but there are going to be players week in and week out who are frustrated not to make the bench, and Christiansen has a balancing act to strike to keep them all happy.
