Leeds United signed Jordan Stevens in the January transfer window.
Christiansen, though, has not completely closed the door on the 17-year-old midfielder featuring for the first team between now and the end of the season.
“Well, we need to see him first but in the beginning it’s with the U23s,” Christiansen told Leeds Live when asked if Stevens could feature for the first team this season.

Not many Leeds fans will have been impressed that the club signed a 17-year-old midfielder for the Under-23 team instead of getting a more established player for the senior side.
After all, the West Yorkshire outfit are in the running for the Championship playoffs, and they need players who can make an instant impact.
Signed from League Two club Forest Green Rovers on an initial 18-month contract in the January transfer window, one can understand why Stevens will be part of the Leeds Under-23 team for the time being – after all, he is only 17 and is still developing as a footballer.
However, Christiansen’s comments suggest that if the 17-year-old midfielder does well for the youth team and develops well, then he could make an appearance for the senior side.
Christiansen’s comments should encourage the youngster to get to work rightaway, and perhaps he could make an appearance for the Leeds first team sooner than most expect him to.
