Christiansen shares what he told Leeds’ players at half-time in dressing room against Burton Albion

Leeds United came from behind to beat Burton Albion at the Pirelli Stadium yesterday.

Thomas Christiansen has revealed to Leeds Live that he was not harsh on his Leeds United side at half-time at the Pirelli Stadium yesterday, even though they went in behind.

Leeds had fallen 1-0 down against Burton, when Tom Naylor scored for the hosts.

However, Christiansen remained calm at the break during the fixture, as he saw plenty to be encouraged by.

Leeds had enjoyed the bulk of the play in the first half against Burton, and Christiansen felt his side’s luck would change, if they kept pressing.

The Danish boss was proven correct in the second period, as he watched his side turned things around.

Leeds scored goals through Pablo Hernandez and Kemar Roofe to pick up the three points, with Christiansen’s calm approach paying dividends.

“I was satisfied with the performance in the first half,” Christiansen said.

“And I told my players they just have to believe and continue in the same way.

“Of course there were some things we needed to adjust.

“And that’s what we used the half-time team talk for, those things. To improve and learn from our mistakes.

“But it was general, I wanted us to perform the same way in the second half as we did in the first.”

Leeds’ win over Burton was their fourth in succession, which has been a serious boost to their promotion chances.

The Whites are currently in fifth place in the Championship table, with their next match coming against bottom of the league Birmingham City.
