Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen appears to have revealed the reason behind Matuesz Klich’s cryptic social media post on Friday.

Klich has only started once in the Championship since his £1.5 million move from FC Twente in July, and hasn’t appeared at all in the league in coming up two months.

But with Ronaldo Vieira suspended for Saturday’s trip to Barnsley, it appeared as though the Polish midfielder may earn a recall.

That was until Klich posted the following message on Twitter:

And when asked about the 27-year-old’s chances afterwards, Christiansen confirmed that he will not feature in his squad at Oakwell, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

As well as Klich and Vieira, Leeds will also be without five-goal striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga and winger Stuart Dallas.

When asked about Lasogga, who has missed the last two Whites games, Christiansen told Leeds Live: “No, he was in the beginning sick and then in one training he got a knock and he was lose the game for tomorrow.

“[Lasogga’s injury is] on the leg. He can be available for [next Friday’s game against Aston] Villa.”

On Dallas, the Leeds boss said: “Well now he has been with the national team, played these two games, got that injury, anyway he was with the team because he felt much better.

“He also got 15 minutes in the last game but then he felt uncomfortable with the situation and we believe it’s better for him to recover. But I am pleased with him, no doubt.

“He’s a very good player for the team, we also proved that and the club proved that renewing his contract so we just need to work and have him back fit.”

Why is Klich not involved in Christiansen’s plans right now – should he be playing?
