Should Liverpool make a move for Marco Verratti of Paris Saint-Germain in the January transfer window?

The former Liverpool managing director has suggested that the Reds should go for Verratti given the money they have got from the sale of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona in the January transfer window.
According to BBC Sport, the Reds have received as much as £142 million as transfer fees for the sale of the Brazil international to Spanish and European giants Barcelona.

“Go and buy Verratti out of Paris,” Purslow told Sky Sports while discussing the players that Liverpool should sign.
Verratti is one of the best midfielders on the planet and is a world-class player, and the 25-year-old would be a blockbuster signing for Liverpool.
The central midfielder would be upgrade on what Jurgen Klopp’s side have at the moment and would enhance their chances of finishing in the top four of the Premier League this season.

The Italy international is a very consistent footballer who has been on the books of PSG since 2012.
The problem that Liverpool could face if they are to make a move for Verratti if that PSG do not need to sell him as they are a very rich club.
Moreover, the former Pescara star could see it as a step down if he has to leave Champions League contenders PSG to join a Liverpool team who may not be in the competition next season.
