Borussia Dortmund Christian Pulisic has told Four Four Two that he wasn’t even thinking about a move to Liverpool with former manager Jurgen Klopp.

Pulisic, 18, has emerged as one of the top youngsters in world football during his time with Dortmund, having burst onto the scene last season.

The teenager hit two goals in nine Bundesliga appearances last season, and has followed that up with another two goals and four assists under Thomas Tuchel this term, having played an even more prominent role.

Already and American international with 11 caps and three goals to his name, Pulisic looks to have a huge future ahead of him, and he also has Champions League experience under his belt.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was in charge of Dortmund when Pulisic arrived in 2015, and recent speculation has suggested that the Reds manager may look to reunite with Pulisic at Anfield.

The Daily Mail claimed after Philippe Coutinho’s injury in November that Liverpool were stepping up their pursuit of Pulisic, with a fee of around £25million suggested for his signature.

However, Pulisic has now told Four Four Two that whilst he ‘has respect’ for his former boss Klopp, he was never thinking about making a move to Merseyside.

The former Brackley Town youngster also revealed that he trained with Southampton and Tottenham as a youngster, but was given an offer he couldn’t refuse by Dortmund – and is settled with the club.

“I have respect for Klopp and I know him – he was very welcoming to me here – but I was never really thinking about going to Liverpool,” said Pulisic. “Borussia Dortmund have given me everything. If I work very hard here, I will play, and I love this club. I’m happy in the city, I’m just really content with everything here at the moment.”

“I had a few training sessions with Tottenham and Southampton. I played for the US national team in some tournaments in Europe and Dortmund had scouts there. I knew about how Dortmund developed young players. I came here, liked it a lot and they offered me something that I could not refuse,” he added
