Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is reportedly close to bringing the Albanian to Ibrox.
When speaking exclusively to the Scottish Sun, AC Milan and Italy legend Christian Panucci raved about the quality of reported Rangers target Eros Grezda, labelling the 23-year-old as a ‘technically very good player’.
The Gers are closing in on a £2 million deal to sign the Albanian winger, according to the Daily Star, and hope to complete the transfer within the next 24 hours.
Grezda can play anywhere long the front-line, and if he does eventually join Rangers, he could turn out to be a vital player for Steven Gerrard’s side in light of Jamie Murphy’s season-ending injury.
Panucci, who currently manages the Albanian team is a big fan of the 23-year-old.
The two-time Champions League winner spoke exclusively to the Scottish Sun, and raved about the quality of the winger:
“Eros is a very important member of the [Albania] squad. He’s fast, direct and makes things happen on the park. I think his game has improved a lot since he went to Croatia to sign for Osijek. I know there was a lot of interest in him from clubs in Italy and in Turkey. Eros is a technically very good player and can also score some important goals, like the one he scored in Turkey for us. He’s still young and will only get better.”
Rangers have until midnight on Friday to wrap up the signing of Grezda, and following Panucci’s comments, the Ibrox faithful will be desperate to see the pacey winger in action.
