Everton and West Ham United reportedly want Christian Kouame.

Genoa’s Christian Kouame may not be a household name just yet, but he appears to be impressing enough in Italy to spark major interest in the Premier League.

The Ivorian forward, 21, was formerly on the books at Inter Milan, but 13 goals for Serie B side Cittadella last season earned him a big move to Genoa last summer.

Whilst Krzysztof Piatek stole the headlines, it’s fair to say that Kouame helped him become the star he is. With seven assists this term, as well as four goals, Kouame has been more creative than deadly.

Now, Calciomercato claim that Everton and West Ham United are both keen on signing Kouame this summer, and would be willing to pay €30million (£25.7million) to lure him to the Premier League.

Spending that kind of money on a forward with four goals may not seem all that enthralling, but Kouame is certainly a player to get excited about if used correctly.

Right now at least, Kouame is not a centre forward. He is best used behind a striker or operating in off the left flank, allowing him to run at defenders and support a centre forward, rather than being the main man.

Everton seem to have a number of players like that already, especially Richarlison. Adding Kouame, when they already have the Brazilian, may be a surprise, but would give him additional thrust going forward.

West Ham seems a better fit, as they will need strikers this summer, and having Kouame operating in and around a powerful centre forward could be a real recipe for success for Manuel Pellegrini.

Speedy and creative whilst still developing, Kouame has the chance to become a star – and whilst he isn’t well known just yet, it’s only a matter of time before people talk about him just as much as they do former teammate Krzysztof Piatek.
