Everton have failed with an approach for Watford manager Marco Silva.

Watford defender Christian Kabasele has told Sky Sports that he thinks the Hornets have to do everything they can in order to keep manager Marco Silva at the club.
The Hornets swooped to appoint Silva as their new manager over the summer, with the 40-year-old brought in to replace former boss Walter Mazzarri.
Silva, formerly of Sporting Lisbon and Olympiakos, was the surprise choice to take charge of Hull City in January, and whilst he couldn’t prevent the Tigers from suffering relegation to the Championship, he impressed enough to earn another Premier League job.

So far, Silva has turned Watford into an exciting and dangerous outfit, and whilst he has lost his last three Premier League games, the Hornets appear to be on the up under Silva’s tutelage.
Silva’s impact at Hull and Watford hasn’t gone unnoticed, and Everton have been attempting to land him as Ronald Koeman’s replacement at Goodison Park – just weeks after Silva’s Watford side blew a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 to Everton.

BBC Sport report that Watford rejected Everton’s bid for Silva, and are determined to keep him at the club having only appointed him over the summer, with one of his players now hailing him.
Defender Christian Kabasele – currently away on international duty with Belgium – has told Sky Sports that he wants to see Watford do everything they can to keep Silva out of Everton’s clutches, as he has clearly improved the Watford side so far.
“Everybody could see he changed a lot of things in the team,” said Kabasele. “We had quite a lot of the same players but we improved a lot. That means he worked very well with us. When you have somebody like this and other teams are looking for him it’s important that Watford try to do everything possible to keep him,” he added.
