Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen and James McClean of West Bromwich Albion will face each other during Denmark’s 2018 World Cup playoff tie against the Republic of Ireland.

Denmark will take on the Republic of Ireland at home in the first leg of their 2018 World Cup playoff on Saturday evening.
While Spurs playmaker Eriksen, 25, will line up for hosts Denmark, 28-year-old winger McClean will feature for the Republic of Ireland.

“Yeah, McClean has played some really good games for the national team,” Eriksen told The Irish Independent. “They play defensively and have been very strong and compact, but you have good players in tough leagues, they know all about the intensity of the tough games, how to play in big matches, their strength so far have been set pieces.”

Eriksen is one of the best attacking midfielders in the world, and the Spurs star will be key for Denmark against the Republic of Ireland.
The former Ajax star is the best player in Age Hareide’s squad, and for his team to progress to the World Cup finals in Russia next summer, he will have to be on top of his game.
McClean has a lot of experience in the Premier League and is a very passionate footballer, and the former Sunderland and Wigan Athletic star will be determined to put on a show for the Republic of Ireland.
