On January 28, 2020, Christian Eriksen made the decision to leave Tottenham and join Inter Milan for a new challenge.

Less than a year later, the technically-gifted playmaker is free to leave the San Siro, as recently confirmed by the club’s director Giuseppe Marotta (Sky Sports), which just proves that it was a disastrous move from the 28-year-old.

The Denmark international has been linked with a return to London, but not the one managed by Jose Mourinho, but those across the street in Arsenal and those further down the road in West Ham United, as reported by EuroSport and ESPN

Both Arsenal and West Ham could do with his services this season, especially the Gunners, who have put food out on the table, served by Mikel Arteta, but it’s cold and it hasn’t been seasoned.

Eriksen is your seasoning, that warmth on your plate and someone who adds extra flavour to the dish.

Given that the Hammers aren’t in Europe, it would be some surprise if he rocked up in East London, but given his Spurs connections, he would cause a stir by putting pen-to-paper with Tottenham’s rivals.

Arsenal would be idiotic not to go for a player of his ilk, who is now available after the latest developments from Inter’s CEO, and in January when players are even harder to come by, it’s a move staring you in the face.

Inter paid around £17 million for Eriksen’s services, so you would assume the Italian club would want most of that back. If that doesn’t work then it wouldn’t be a surprise if they are open to a loan move for the dead-ball specialist – once again suiting Arsenal and the disadvantaged West Ham.

A man of Eriksen’s age you would assume that he is in the peak of his powers, but far from it. He hasn’t scored or assisted in 12 games this season and only supplied three goals since moving to Italy.

Off-putting for most, but he’s better than what West Ham have and with Arsenal in the midst of a relegation battle, they’re not going to sign Jack Grealish, are they? It has to be a player who has taken a fall and Eriksen is that guy.
