Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy is said to have been handed the chance to sign Gareth Bale by Real Madrid.

The deal is obviously a very complicated one, which would stretch Tottenham’s finances.
But Eriksen’s words on the Welshman prove just how highly he is regarded within Spurs’ squad.
Eriksen said: “He’s a top, top player. Nobody in the world is the same as Messi or Ronaldo, but he’s in a group who are very, very close behind them.
“He has been playing at Real Madrid for a long time now and he has done very well there. Even to ask the question about how he compares to Messi or Ronaldo shows he is up there.
“Bale is someone who can always give them something extra. He does it in any team he plays for.”
Eriksen’s comments show that Tottenham’s players may well be willing to accept Bale coming on a higher wage than is usually offered, due to his ability.

Bale could turn Tottenham into genuine title contenders and he would prove Spurs’ intent once and for all.
Bale’s arrival could also help convince Eriksen to commit his future to Spurs, as his contract has still not been sorted.
And if Levy has been offered Bale, then Eriksen’s comments should serve as even more encouragement to do everything he can to try and pull off the deal.
