The Tottenham Hotspur play-maker was superb against the Hornets.

Tottenham Hotspur duo Harry Kane and Dele Alli took plenty of plaudits after their two-goal hauls saw Spurs to a 4-1 victory against Watford on Sunday.
It was the perfect way for Mauricio Pochettino’s men to start 2017 and yet there was one Tottenham player whose influence could have been overlooked in the face of his teammates’ braces.
Christian Eriksen has been criticised for much of the campaign to date for his below-par performances, yet recent outings have suggested he is back to his best.
That was certainly the case at the weekend, when the Danish international played out of his skin despite failing to get on the score sheet.
| Passing Accuracy | Tackles Won | Interceptions Won | Duels Won | Touches | Ball Recoveries | Shots | Key Passes | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Christian Eriksen | 90% | 5 | 1 | 7 | 89 | 6 | 3 | 5 | 90 |
It is not all about assisting and finding the back of the net, sometimes it is about influencing the match with your all-round performance; something Eriksen proved against Watford.
The Tottenham star finished the game with a 90 per cent passing accuracy while he had three shots and set up five goal-scoring opportunities for a teammate.
But it was not only his attacking ability that was on show, with Eriksen also winning five tackles, six ball recoveries and a very impressive seven duels.
It showed his fighting spirit and proved to be the catalyst for Tottenham’s latest win.
