Tottenham Hotspur want to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season, says Christian Eriksen.
Tottenham Hotspur attacking midfielder Christian Eriksen has told The Sun that his side’s primary objective this season is to finish in the top four of the Premier League.
Spurs are fifth in the league table at the moment with 36 points from 18 matches.
The North London outfit are a point behind bitter rivals Arsenal, who are currently fourth in the standings and occupy the final Champions League spot.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are 13 points behind leaders Chelsea, who are now the firm favourites to win the Premier League title this season.
Eriksen has outlined Tottenham’s primary objective this campaign – to finish in the top four of the Premier League.
“The first aim is to get in the top four,” Eriksen told The Sun. “After that, we’ll see. It’s going to be the same as last season.
“We’ll keep fighting until the end, like in the movies. At the moment, none of the top teams are losing. So every game is important.”
Eriksen has been on the books of Tottenham since the summer of 2013 when he joined them from Ajax for a transfer fee of £11.5 million, as reported by BBC Sport.
The Denmark international attacking midfielder is one of the best players in the Premier League and is a key figure in the current Tottenham team.
The 24-year-old has scored five goals and created 47 chances in 17 league matches for Spurs so far this campaign.
