Tottenham Hotspur are looking to end their 10-year wait for a major trophy this season.
Tottenham star Christian Eriksen spoke to reporters whilst away on international duty with Denmark, and made the bold claim that everyone wants to play like Spurs, as quoted by the London Evening Standard.
The Lilywhites finished in third spot in the Premier League table last season, and many were tipping them to go on and push Manchester City all the way this time around.
Mauricio Pochettino failed to sign a single player during the summer transfer window, however, and it seems as though another finish inside the top four would now constitute a successful campaign for the north London outfit.
Tottenham have not won a major trophy since 2008, and the pressure to break that drought really is beginning to build on Poch and his players.
Eriksen, though, insisted that every team is envious of the way in which Spurs go about their business, as quoted by the London Evening Standard:
“Everyone wants to play like Spurs. We want to play attractive football, get the ball forward and create chances with good possession.”
Next up for Tottenham is a home game against Liverpool on Saturday, and Eriksen and co will have to be at their very best, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of beating Jürgen Klopp’s side.
