Tottenham Hotspur’s Christian Eriksen has developed his game even further since Mauricio Pochettino took over.

Christian Eriksen may have gone into this season as Tottenham Hotspur’s key player, but his importance to the side is growing by the game.

Under Mauricio Pochettino he has gone from a creative influence to a player who is crucial to Spurs’s play in every department.

Once solely on the pitch to lay-on chances for his teammates, he now leads Tottenham’s defensive line from the front.

Pochettino’s teams are famed for their intense pressing style and the Dane has really bought into his new manager’s philosophy.

Eriksen is recovering the ball six times a game for his side, considerably up on last season’s total, while he is also trying to rush defenders into mistakes.

The 22-year-old is now making almost two tackles a game, which is nearly an 100% improvement on his displays from last season.

He has also nearly reached his goalscoring total from last campaign already, proving that he is becoming more of a threat in attacking situations.

Eriksen has accumulated more goals in this calendar year than any other midfielder in the Premier League and he looks to be a player who Spurs can build their team around for the years to come.
