Tottenham Hotspur are said to be tracking the young midfielder.
According to ESPN, Tottenham Hotspur are keeping a close eye on Hoffenheim midfielder Nadiem Amiri and, while he is far from the finished product, he could excel under the guidance of Christian Eriksen in North London.
The Denmark international is growing into one of the finest attacking midfielders in the Premier League and he knows exactly what it takes to go from potential star to consistent performer for Tottenham.
Now 25, the Spurs player who signed for £11.5million back in 2013 (BBC) could take Amiri under his wing and teach the young German how to maximise his potential, just as Eriksen has done so effectively in recent years.
Amiri is very much a rough diamond; a player who has featured 86 times for Hoffenheim to date but who has only managed 10 goals and 10 assists in that time.
He is still years from his peak and, if Tottenham move for him, Mauricio Pochettino could work wonders as he has with so many players before him.
However Eriksen’s presence at the club should not be understated and he could teach Amiri how to become more influential on the field, racking up his assists and goals in the process.
Tottenham fans have been calling for another attacking midfielder to ease the pressure on Eriksen for some time and Amiri could learn from him now before acting as his long-term replacement.
