Tottenham midfielder reflects on defeat.

Christian Eriksen admits Tottenham were responsible for their own poor performance against Ajax.
Spurs lost 1-0, their second successive home defeat.
Ajax were excellent, but Eriksen says that Spurs made the Dutch side look even better than they are.
Speaking to BT Sport, Eriksen said: “We made them look a lot better. They are a good side, but we helped them along the way. It was our fault. We were better in the second half.
“No one wanted to play the first half we did. Everyone knew we didn’t compete. We still lost, but we were better in the second half.
“We can’t keep talking about injured players. In a semi-final it doesn’t matter who plays, we have to step up. We’re lucky they hit the post and hopefully we can turns things around in Amsterdam.”

Eriksen was referring to David Neres’ late chance which was a let off for Tottenham.
The Danish star was playing against his former club and would have wanted to do better.
A place in the Champions League final is on the line and while Spurs lost, they are down but not out.
An early goal in the second leg for Spurs would equal Ajax’s advantage and give them momentum.
Spurs will have Heung Min Son back for the second leg, who scored three of their four goals against Manchester City.
