Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen has told Danish newspaper BT that he doesn’t know what the club’s aspirations are this season.
Spurs have made a superb start to the Premier League season, as they are the only team to remain unbeaten after the first seven games of the new campaign.
Sunday’s 2-0 win over Manchester City leaves Spurs just one point off top spot, and many are again considering Tottenham as title challengers after they beat Pep Guardiola’s highly-touted City side.

With the international break now upon us, Pochettino has time to reflect on Sunday’s win and prepare for the trip to West Bromwich Albion a week on Saturday, with the Argentinian attempting to mastermind another title bid.
For many Spurs players, the attention turns to World Cup qualifiers with their countries, and Christian Eriksen will be in action for Denmark against Poland and Montenegro over the coming week.

Ahead of those games, Eriksen has spoken to Danish newspaper BT, and has been asked about Tottenham’s hopes of winning the Premier League title.
The playmaker stated that he doesn’t think a title challenge has been mentioned by anybody involved at the club, and as a result, he isn’t even sure what Tottenham’s aspirations are for this season.
Eriksen added that he thinks that’s because everybody at the club has been focusing on making a good start to the season and seeing where it takes them, rather than setting a goal before the season.

“I do not think it has been mentioned at any time,” said Eriksen. “Fortunately, we are in a position in which people take one game at a time. I actually do not know exactly what our aspirations are.”
“I just think everyone has been looking forward to getting started with the Champions League and the league and to make it as good as possible,” he added.
