Leeds United are firmly in contention to gain promotion this season.
During an exclusive interview with the Independent, Leeds striker Chris Wood explained how Garry Monk has helped extract the best out of him, since his appointment as manager in the summer.
The New Zealand international has been in fine form for the Whites so far this season, and has scored 10 goals in 19 Championship outings thus far, helping his side’s surge up to fourth in the table.

And the 25-year-old, who moved to Elland Road from Ipswich in July 2015, shared how Monk placed his full trust in him, something that he did not experience under previous managers at Leeds, as quoted by the Independent:
“The gaffer has given me a lot of confidence playing-wise. That is what you need as a player, knowing your manager is going to back you. You thrive on it.”

The West Yorkshire outfit head to the south coast tonight to take on second placed Brighton & Hove Albion, in a game that will represent a true test as to how much they have actually improved over the past few months.
The levels of expectation are certainly higher now at Elland Road, and along with that comes added pressure.
And their chances of success will depend heavily on how well the Leeds manger and his players deal with that.
