Garry Monk’s current contract with Leeds United runs out in the summer.

Leeds United striker Chris Wood has been quoted as saying by Stuff.co.nz that he hopes that Garry Monk remains in charge of the first team.
Monk was appointed the Leeds manager in the summer of 2016 and has a contract until this summer.

Wood, who has scored 27 goals and provided four assists in the Championship for the West Yorkshire outfit this season, has said that he hopes that the former Swansea City boss remains the Leeds manager next season.
The Mirror claimed last month that Championship club Norwich City want to appoint Monk as their manager.
“We all know and it doesn’t need me to highlight what he’s about,” Stuff.co.nz quotes Wood as saying about Monk. “He’s a great manager, he’s a great person and hopefully he’ll be here next season.”
New contract a must
Monk has done a wonderful job at Leeds, and it makes perfect sense for the Whites to hand the Englishman a new contract.
Although the Whites narrowly failed to make the Championship playoffs, Monk should be praised heavily.
The way the former Swansea boss had control of the dressing room and installed a strong team spirit in the squad is praiseworthy.
If Monk is handed a new contract and is backed in the summer transfer window, then Leeds could push for the automatic promotion places in the Championship next season.
