Chris Wood scored for Leeds United against Ipswich Town in the Championship on Saturday.

Chris Wood is not exactly a great striker and may not even get on the substitutes’ bench for the top three or four teams in the Championship.
However, for Leeds United, Wood is indispensable, and he proved that again on Saturday afternoon.
The New Zealand international striker scored the only goal of the Championship match between Leeds and Ipswich Town at Elland Road.

The former Leicester City man found the net in the 35th minute when he connected with Charlie Taylor’s cross and sent the ball past Bartosz Bialkowski in goal.
Wood’s overall performance against Ipswich was also encouraging, as he took seven shots and created one chance.
The goal against the Tractor Boys on Saturday was the 24-year-old striker’s fifth in nine Championship matches for Leeds this season.

The former West Bromwich Albion striker, who has created four chances for the Whites so far this campaign, has clearly established himself as a key player for Leeds.
In fact, Wood’s recent performances and goals suggest that he is now indispensable for Leeds if the West Yorkshire outfit are to finish in the Championship playoffs this season.
The striker had injury problems last season, but he still managed to score 13 goals and create 39 chances in 35 Championship matches for the Whites.
If Wood stays fit, then there is a good chance that he will score 15 to 20 goals in the league this season given the way he is playing at the moment.
