Leeds United striker Chris Wood has told Nzfootball.co.nz that he is enjoying his football at the moment.
Wood has been in good form for Leeds so far this season and has reasserted his status in the team as one of their most important players.
The 24-year-old has scored five goals and created five chances in 10 Championship appearances for the West Yorkshire outfit so far this season.
The former West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City striker is on international duty with New Zealand at the moment.
Wood has been training with his New Zealand teammates ahead of Saturday’s match against Mexico.
The Leeds striker has said that he is enjoying his football at the moment, with New Zealand national football team head coach Anthony Hudson praising his attitude in training.
“I am enjoying my football at the moment,” Wood told Nzfootball.co.nz. “The team [Leeds United] is doing well which is the main thing. We are ticking along nicely and I hope I can bring that form into these games as well.”
“As soon as Woodsy comes in he lifts the group, he loves playing for New Zealand. He is incredibly proud and has great attitude,” said Hudson.
Wood did not start the 2016-17 campaign strongly, but in recent weeks, he has looked superb and has been in brilliant form.
Leeds are 11th in the Championship table at the moment with 16 points from 11 matches, just four points behind sixth-placed Birmingham City.
