The Whites have won seven of their last 10 games in all competitions.
Leeds United striker Chris Wood has told the club’s official website that the side are finally starting to show their true selves after an indifferent start to the season.
The Whites struggled to adapt to life under new manager Garry Monk in the opening weeks of the campaign, losing four and winning just one of their first six Championship matches.
However, since suffering defeat to Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town on 10 September, Monk’s side have lost just twice, with both of those defeats coming by a 1-0 scoreline away from home.
The improvements across the pitch are there for all to see, and they booked a mouthwatering EFL Cup quarter-final tie with Liverpool by edging past Norwich City on penalties in midweek.
Wood, who scored the Whites’ second equaliser in the second period of extra-time in that clash, believes that the side are finally starting to gel and thrive under Monk’s tutelage.
He told the club’s website: “We have a lot of character in this dressing room and the team and we have to show that every week. Every side wanting to do well in competitions and in the league needs that and things are going well at the moment.
“We have strived for consistency this season, it was always going to be a slow start with the changes and the new players needing time to gel, but it is coming together now.
“We need to draw a line under Tuesday and go again, we are back to the league now and that is where our focus lies.”
Leeds are 10th in the Championship table, just three points outside the play-off places heading into a crucial month of fixtures.
They have Burton Albion as their next opponents, followed by clashes with promotion-chasers Norwich City and Newcastle United and a meeting with struggling Yorkshire rivals Rotherham United before their big date at Anfield at the end of November.
