Chris Wilder hailed Lucas Moura as ‘incredible’ in his pre-match press conference ahead of Tottenham’s clash with Sheffield United today.

When praising Tottenham’s squad, Wilder understandably mentioned Jose Mourinho’s forward line, including the usual front two of Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son.

But Wilder was also certain to mention Moura in that list also, with the £23 million [BBC Sport] yet to start a Premier League game since October.

“They have got some players who can hurt you,” said Wilder. “They have got some incredible players. They have incredible players off the bench, incredible players who don’t get into the 20 [man matchday squad].

“Some fabulous players. As always in this division, we have to play to the best of our ability, which we did last year. And we took big moments.

“They have got brilliant players all over the pitch, especially at the top. Incredible quality. Son, Harry Kane and Moura. You can sit here all day. Every one of their players is international players and extremely talented.”

A lot has been made of Jose Mourinho’s use of his forward players, especially Gareth Bale and Dele Alli.

Both were unused during Tottenham’s draw against Fulham in midweek and it has to be questioned why they didn’t even get on the pitch.

Mourinho’s starting XI will be interesting today, as will how he handles the likes of Alli and Bale, whose game time has been pretty minimal in the Premier League.
