Sheffield United have had an incredible rise over the last few years and a lot of it has been down to manager Chris Wilder and his style of play.

Wilder has helped Sheffield United to two promotions since his appointment and the consistent part of that process has been his attractive style of play. The Blades have never been too shy to attack over the last three years and the pressure of staying up in the top-flight will not change that, according to their manager.
The Blades boss dismissed any sort of fear ahead of next season and he promised that his side will go into every game with the intention of coming away with something from it.
He said: “We’ll go into every game and try to do our best and get something from it. It is an enormous challenge staying in the division and if we do it, it will obviously be better than getting out of the previous division. But we are excited and we’re not scared about it.”
Wilder claimed that it made no sense to go completely against what has worked so well for them over the last three years and he made it clear that his side will only play one way – The Sheffield United way.
“I hate the old DNA shout but from our point of view we’re not going to rip up everything we’ve done and change everything, I don’t think that’s fair. We can’t do that and we will go about it our way – the Sheffield United way – and believe that it’s going to be good enough to succeed,” he said.

Wilder was quick to admit that his side will have to come up with new ideas to tackle a whole new level of opposition next season and he demanded improvement all around the club to help achieve that.
He concluded saying: “You’ve go to keep evolving and you’ve got to keep taking those small steps. We have to improve and we have to improve in terms of recruitment, we have to improve off the pitch, preparation and so on but I think it would be foolish to rip up what has been successful for us over the past three years.”
Wilder has defied the odds by sticking to his principles since taking over the club but if he can pull it off at the end of next season, it would certainly be his biggest achievement as a manager.
