John McGinn produced a Man of the Match display to help Aston Villa make a return to the Premier League.

Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has lauded the qualities of Aston Villa’s John McGinn and joked he has his number on speed dial.
On Monday afternoon, McGinn produced a Man of the Match display to help his team beat Derby County 2-1 in the Championship play-off final.
The Scotland international scored what proved to be the decisive goal in the second half as his work rate, quality on the ball and ability to beat any player was showcased on the big stage.
Speaking to Sky Sports Football (27/05/2019 5:05 pm), Blades boss Wilder stated that McGinn is ‘the best’ midfielder in the Championship and then chuckled by saying he is the best after one of his own players.
“Oh, John McGinn, he was everywhere,” Wilder told Sky Sports Football. “For me, the best midfield player in the Championship. Behind Oli Norwood [Sheff Utd player].
“He deserves to go up. And that’s fantastic recruitment by going up to Scotland and knicking a player out and coming down and he’ll grace the Premier League – I’ve got John McGinn’s number on speed dial.”

Last summer, McGinn joined Villa from Scottish Premiership side Hibernian as an unknown figure, but it wasn’t too long before he became a fan favourite.
McGinn’s ability on the ball, wand of a left-foot, non-stop work rate, ability to drive with the ball from midfield and ability to win his duels in the middle of the park have made him a superstar at Villa Park.
Towards the end of the regular season, the Scotsman was named Villa’s Players’ Player of the Season and Fans Player of the Season and he proved why on Monday.
