Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has told The Yorkshire Post that David Brooks will not be sold in the January transfer window.

Brooks is one of the best young players in England and has been linked with Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool.

According to The Star, Premier League trio Tottenham, Liverpool and Everton are monitoring the 20-year-old midfielder.

The Wales international is one of the best midfielders in the Championship and signed a new contract with United only in October.

The Blades are doing quite in the Championship at the moment and are very much in the running for a top-six finish.

United manager Wilder has stated that Brooks will not be sold by the Championship club in the January transfer window.

However, Wilder has admitted that the final decision on the future of the 20-year-old will be made by the club’s board.

Wilder told The Yorkshire Post: “There’s a lot of off-the-record conversations, whether agents connected very closely with clubs, or even clubs asking ‘what are you doing with players?’

“Nothing changes from my point of view, for David, he is not for sale. He is part of what we are doing going forward. Yes, I have had a conversation, and people understand he is an outstanding talent.

“But I have made it loud and clear that he isn’t for sale from my point of view. If anybody makes a bid, football now, it doesn’t really go through managers.

“It goes through chief executives and chairmen, that’s a decision the club have to make if they do get bids and offers from other clubs for our player.”

It seems that Wilder will not have the final say on the future of Brooks, and if Everton, Tottenham and Liverpool are serious about the youngster, then they should make a bid to the club.
