Tottenham Hotspur striker Vincent Janssen is now waiting for a chance in Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Chris Waddle has told BBC Sport that he thinks some people have forgotten Tottenham Hotspur have Vincent Janssen.

Mauricio Pochettino has recently suggested that Janssen simply isn’t in his plans at Tottenham, even though he scored for their development side.

However, with Harry Kane out injured until March, Spurs’ options up-front look very short.

Pochettino is not only without Kane, but Heung-Min Son is also away, which leaves Tottenham with a dilemma.

Fernando Llorente looks most likely to step into Tottenham’s starting spot up-front, but beyond him Janssen is the most recognised striker at Pochettino’s disposal.

And Waddle feels that the Dutchman could yet play more games for Spurs this season.

“People forget they’ve still got Janssen they can’t get rid of and he might have to come off the bench in games,” he said.

Janssen has not featured for Tottenham since August 2017, and it is thought that he could be available for transfer this month.

Tottenham are next in action on Sunday, when they take on Fulham at Craven Cottage.
