Arsenal are struggling defensively this season.

Chris Waddle has suggested five players in The Racing Post who are not good enough for Arsenal.
The former Tottenham Hotspur star has suggested that defenders David Luiz, Sokratis, Shkodran Mustafi and Rob Holding and goalkeeper Bernd Leno are not great players.
Waddle wrote in The Racing Post: “For example, he (manager Unai Emery) signed David Luiz in the summer but he’s no more than an okay defender – he’s certainly not the solution.
“Looking at Sokratis, Shkodran Mustafi and Rob Holding, you just think they’re not bad, nothing more. The keeper Bernd Leno’s okay but he’s not world-class either.”
Not good enough?
Arsenal have a very potent and brilliant attacking unit, but defensively the Gunners have struggled so far this season.
The Gunners’ back-line is not exactly bad, but the North London outfit do need better players if they are to challenge for the Premier League title in the coming years.
The likes of Luiz, Sokratis and Leno – who joined the Gunners from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2018 for a transfer fee reported by The London Evening Standard to be worth £22 million – are experienced footballers, but they are not at the level of players that title challengers Liverpool and Manchester City have.
Arsenal are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 17 points from 11 matches.
