Chris Waddle reacts on Twitter to Sheffield Wednesday playoff defeat

Chris Waddle has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Sheffield Wednesday’s failure to progress to the Championship playoff final.

Wednesday lost to Huddersfield Town in the Championship semi-final playoff on penalties. After drawing the first leg goalless away and the second leg 1-1 at home, the Owls lost 4-3 in the penalty shootout.

Former Wednesday star Waddle has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to the Owls’ defeat to Huddersfield in the playoffs.

Wednesday fans must be hugely disappointed with the team’s failure to progress to the Championship playoff final. The Owls finished in the top six of the Championship table during the 2015-16 campaign as well.

Carlos Carvalhal is a very good manager, and despite successive playoff disappointment, he has proved himself in the Championship.

There are some wonderful players in the current Wednesday squad. If the club are able to keep hold of their best players and make new signings in the summer transfer window, then they could launch a challenge for automatic promotion next season.
