Chris Waddle has given his take on Roy Keane’s suggestion that Manchester United should sign Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur, as quoted in The Racing Post.

United legend Keane said on Sky Sports (7:15pm, October 20, 2019) that the Red Devils should go and sign Kane from Premier League rivals Tottenham (click here to read more).

Former Tottenham star Waddle has given his take on Keane’s comments, and he does not believe that the 26-year-old will leave Spurs for the Red Devils.

Waddle wrote in The Racing Post: “It is pretty amusing to hear Roy Keane say that United should sign Harry Kane – I bet there are about 60 managers in Europe who would love to have the Spurs striker leading their forward line.

“It is true that Kane may start thinking about how many medals he will have in his cabinet to look back on it retirement, but at the age of 26, now is not the time.

“And even if he did, he’s in at better place than he would be if he joined United. Sure they are a big club but he is not going to be able to turn them into a top-four team single-handed. United don’t just need Kane. They need four or five other players as well.”

Tottenham Hotspur stay

United are a massive club, but the Red Devils are not in a great place at the moment, and Kane is better off staying at Tottenham.

Spurs regularly challenge for the Premier League title and compete in the Champions League, and the England international is happy at the North London outfit.

The 26-year-old is a world-class striker, and if he ever wants to leave Tottenham, then he will find a lot of clubs lining up for his services.
