Sheffield Wednesday were always going to be up against it in the FA Cup against Chelsea.

Maurizio Sarri’s side were full of confidence after reaching the Carabao Cup final days earlier and the Owls were shown up as predictably inferior opponents.

One area Sheffield Wednesday did shine was in the stands, with the away supporters raucous and vocal throughout.

Former Owls hero Chris Waddle took to Twitter to praise the fans. Twice.

Chelsea won the game 3-0 with Willian scoring twice and Callum Hudson-Odoi netting inbetween.

Wednesday are set to welcome back Steve Bruce from his break abroad as the Championship gets set to resume.

Their next game is an away tie against Ipswich Town next weekend.
