Chris Sutton has said on BBC Radio 5 Live (8:34pm, January 16, 2023) that Everton could sack Frank Lampard as their manager and bring in David Moyes from West Ham United.

The former Chelsea striker believes that it is very much possible that Everton bring Moyes back to Goodison Park.

The 59-year-old Scotsman was in charge of Everton from 2002 until 2013 when he moved to Manchester United.

Moyes is now the manager of West Ham, who like Everton, are having a torrid Premier League campaign.

Sutton said: “Did I see a story doing the rounds about the possibility of David Moyes going back to Everton? I don’t think that’s impossible, you know. That would be a really interesting one, if it happened.”

Could Everton bring David Moyes back from West Ham United?

In our view, Everton are unlikely to get David Moyes now, but they could be able to bring him to Goodison Park from West Ham United in the summer of 2023.

Both Everton and West Ham are struggling at the moment, and there is a distinct possibility that both the Toffees and the Hammers could get relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.

For Everton to get Moyes now, first they would have to sack Frank Lampard and then approach the Hammers and hope that they do them a favour.

Or West Ham would have to sack Moyes first, and then the Toffees could get the Scotsman by firing Lampard.

We think that if Everton are to hire Moyes, then they will have a better chance in the summer of 2023.
