Celtic were in Champions League qualifying action tonight as they played out a 1-1 draw with Danish side Midtjylland at Parkhead, with Chris Sutton offering a mixed response.
The Bhoys came into this game with major questions over their recruitment, squad and general direction after a muddled managerial search and slow transfer window to date.
They did take the lead against Midtjylland though as Liel Abada – who only joined the Bhoys last week – scored his first goal for the club.
Fellow Israeli Nir Bitton then managed to get himself sent off, only for Midtjylland ace Anders Dreyer to be dismissed before the hour mark.
Midtjylland still managed to find a leveller though, as Evander’s free kick found its way into the net with Vasilis Barkas hardly covering himself in glory.
Celtic will now head to Denmark in search of a result to take them through, and Sutton has taken to Twitter to offer his reaction.

Sutton suggested that Celtic were the better side on the night and should have won, praising the displays of Callum McGregor, the ‘outstanding’ Ryan Christie, Stephen Welsh and Dane Murray.
Sutton also called new signing Abada ‘lively’, but urged Celtic to sign a new goalkeeper after Barkas dropped another clanger.
