Tottenham were knocked out of the Champions League by Juventus on Wednesday night.

Outspoken pundit Chris Sutton told BBC Radio 5 Live in the immediate aftermath of Tottenham Hotspur’s loss to Juventus that manager Mauricio Pochettino is “a dreamer”, but the tie turned into “a nightmare”.
Spurs were favourites going into the second leg at Wembley on Wednesday night after earning a slender lead following their 2-2 draw against the Italian champions in Turin last month.
However, a 2-1 loss on the night saw the north Londoners crash out of the competition despite taking the lead through South Korean attacker Son Heung-min in the first half.

Goals from Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala in the space of three second-half minuted proved too much for Pochettino’s side, and Sutton reacted to the loss by describing Juventus as “street-wise”.
“Juventus had to change it, they weren’t threatening enough,” Sutton said. “Higuain took his chance when he got it, and you have to say the second goal was beautifully worked.
“Spurs will feel unlucky, especially after that Harry Kane chance in the last minute. Pochettino is a dreamer, but this turned into a nightmare. They’ve been put out by a side who were cuter, more street-wise, and took their chances.”

Son gave Spurs the lad as he converted a Kieran Trippier cross, with his mishit effort bouncing over helpless goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon. But Juve remained patient and goals from Higuain and Dybala in the 64th and 67th minute booked their place in the last eight.
Spurs’ critics continue to suggest that they need a trophy to become a big club, and they must now switch their attention to the FA Cup with the Premier League title well out of sight.
