Celtic finished nine points ahead of Old Firm rivals Rangers in the Scottish Premiership this season.

Chris Sutton has admitted that he would be ‘surprised’ if Motherwell’s David Turnbull walked into Rangers or Celtic’s team after a successful season at Fir Park.
Attack-minded midfielder Turnbull has caught the eye of many this season, with Cardiff City, Derby County and Bristol City interested in his signature, according to The Scottish Sun.
Given the fact that Turnbull is a highly-rated youngster performing in Scotland’s top-flight, those players will always find that their names will be discussed with the Old Firm duo.
Speaking to BT Sport’s official Periscope account (19/05/2019), former Celtic striker Sutton was asked about what the 19-year-old teenage sensation.
“I think it’s important he keeps playing,” Sutton told BT Sport. “Stephen [Craigan] would be a better judge as to whether he would walk into Celtic or Rangers. I would be surprised if he did. I think he needs another season [at Motherwell].”

Throughout the recently concluded season, Motherwell’s youngsters have shone in Scotland’s top-flight from Turnbull to winger Jack Hastie.
Added with that, The Fir Park club have played an eye-catching and free-flowing brand of football, which has allowed players like Turnbull to thrive.
Over the course of the campaign, he has played 34 matches in all competitions, scoring 16 goals from the middle of the park and supplying his teammates with seven assists [transfermarkt].
